EASTS 2021 wins the JNTO Best Practice Award
The 14th International Conference of Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies 2021 (EASTS 2021), an international conference to be held on September 12-14 in Hiroshima, has been selected for the Best Practice Award by the Japan National Tourism Bureau (JNTO). The award recognizes international conferences that demonstrate innovation and/or originality in their planning or that left a legacy of contributing to their destinations. As one of the EASTS 2021’s major themes is Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), its local organizing committee, together with major local transportation company Hiroshima Electric Railway Co., Ltd, plans to implement a next generation digital mobility service for conference participants, enabling them to experience MaaS firsthand in Hiroshima. The JNTO praised the idea as a good example of integrating the destination’s resources with the conference theme. We are delighted by this announcement, having supported the local committee throughout the bidding process.
