Shukkei-en Garden
The Shukkei-en Garden located in the heart of Hiroshima was constructed during the Edo period by Asano Nagaakira, the feudal lord of Hiroshima Castle. The garden was initially created as a relaxing villa for the Asano family.
The work was undertaken by his chief retainer and famous tea master Soko Ueda.
