Thousand paper crane Dedication

In this progam, participants can have an experience of dedicating a thousand paper cranes for Children's Peace Monument.
Sadako Sasaki, a young girl who had survived the atomic bombing at the age of 2, died 10 years later from leukemia due to atomic bomb radiation. Until her death on October 25, 1955, she kept folding origami paper cranes hoping for recovery, as old legend has it that folding a thousand paper cranes would make your wish come true. Her death sparked a movement to built a monument to pray for world peace and the peaceful repose of the many children killed by the atomic bomb. Donations poured in from throughout Japan, and the Children’s Peace Monument was completed on the grounds of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The story of Sadako Sasaki later spread around the world. Today paper cranes continue to be dedicated to the Children’s Peace Monument, from throughout Japan and around the world.
