Okuda Genso Sayume Art Museum
Husband and wife Genso and Sayume Okuda are both artists born in Miyoshi. Genso is a Japanese-style painter while Sayume is a dollmaker, and both of their works are featured in the only art museum in Japan to be named after a married couple, the Okuda Genso Sayume Art Museum. The museum serves as hub to promote art and art culture by aiming to create harmony between the differing styles of 2D Japanese style artwork and 3D dolls, and harmony between the rich natural environment of Miyoshi and art. Genso and Sayume Okuda dreamed of opening a joint museum for their works for many long years, carefully storing them so that they would not be scattered or lost. They donated all of these works to their hometown, Miyoshi, and the Okuda Genso Sayume Art Museum was born.
