Yokogawa Shopping Arcade Area
Located just two stops west from Hiroshima Station, the Yokogawa Station area is home to many different shopping arcades that span approximately 400 meters from north to south. Once known as the gateway to historical Hiroshima when it was a castle town, the area has prospered as a hub of transport and commerce, connecting people and goods moving in north to south and east to west. Here, you can find events and projects rooted in the local community, such as the Shopping Arcade Theatre, a collaboration between NPOs, artists, and more that uses the community-based arcade as a stage, and Yokogawa Zombie Night, a Halloween event that unleashes a horde of zombies in Yokogawa. This area offers you the chance to create a one-of-a-kind entertainment event experience, whether you turn the many restaurants in the arcades into a street food court, the close-by riverside area into a party venue, or add a zombie performance!
