Description / Acceptance Time / Group Size / Time Required 【Unique Features】
This temple features many attractions, such as the Henjōkutsu Cave, filled with 88 statues of Buddhist deities. The sand on the floor is from the 88 temples of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, and it is believed that visitors here will receive the same blessing as completing the pilgrimage. Another popular place to visit is Gohyaku-rakan, where the five hundred disciples of Buddha have been enshrined along thelong stone staircase that leads to the main hall. During the Mantō-e Festival (Buddhist Lantern Festival), numerous lanterns are offered to the temple to bring light to the world, banish darkness, and receive blessings of wisdom and fortune, as well as attain nirvana. The lanterns create a magical atmosphere, and a version of this festival can be arranged for your event.
